About Jay Filippone:
Born and bred in Baltimore City, Jay Filippone has been a cornerstone of the local music scene since 1984, being touted as “…the most underrated classic pop songwriter in Greater Baltimore” (Lee Gardner, Baltimore City Paper, 1999).

Jay has been involved in numerous projects over the years, including As the Crow Flies, The Landlords of Mobtown, June Star (2003-2006), and The Royal Americans. Jay currently heads The Beltways, a power-pop, American roots, rock n’ roll juggernaut that’s been performing and recording since 1994.

Having produced three acclaimed albums, the Beltways are in the process of recording their fourth in New York City. Several of the songs from this upcoming project, as well as past albums, will be performed tonight.

It’s a rare occurrence for Jay to perform without the accompaniment of drums, bass, amps, etc.; but with solid song-writing, sometimes all you need is an acoustic guitar.
